Friday night at the Vector arena in front of 9500 fans the largest crowd ever to attend a Basketball match in New Zealand the NZ Breakers blew it in the first of the semi final matches for the 2011/12 season. With the Townsville Crocs having worked out how to shut down the Breakers main weapon, Cedric Jackson, it almost appeared as there was no plan b and on top of some spectacular shooting from beyond the arc the Crocs ran away with the game in the 3rd quarter, and the crowd went home very disappointed at the end with the Breakers loosing 99 to 82.

Here at James Blond Ltd we know all about let downs and disappointments when some of our customers choose to treat the whole process of car rental as a right rather than a privilege and seem to think that we are insulting them by asking for payment when they wish to extend their car rental or return the vehicle in a damaged state and make no effort towards the payment of repairs. Or even deny all knowledge of any accident damage that has been caused whilst they have had the rental car.

Thankfully our bad customers are few and far between and hopefully the NZ Breakers will win in Townsville on Thursday night  to redeem themselves.

This is it after 25 rounds and 28 games of the regular season the first semi final is played tonight as the NZ Breakers try to go back to back champions in the ANBL. Tonights game against the Townsville Cros the first of the best of three will be played in front of 9000 people and will be the largest crowd ever to attend a basketball match in New Zealand, what a moment for the Breakers. Its funny to think back now when the team from James Blond Ltd first got involved and some nights there where less than 2000 people at the games.

James Blond Ltd have been proud sponsors and supporters of the NZ Breakers since 2006 by providing rental cars for the players use and to assist the community coaches with their roles in getting out to schools and other groups to spread the basketball message. Tonight almost the whole team from James Blond Ltd will be at the game and will be screaming for a Breakers win lets hope that they play their best and win or lose the crowd goes away happy to have been there as p[art of the biggest crowd ever to attend a BBall game in NZ.l

Isn’t it funny how the shortage of something that we all take for granted like Marmite becomes national news and people who use this spread on a daily basis are panicking about how they will be able to cope without the spread on their morning toast maybe for as long as until June or July. But one mans misadventure becomes another mans chance to shine and apart from the opportunists trying to sell the spread on Trade Me for ridiculous sums, there are manufactures of the other competing spreads that must be rubbing their hands with glee.

The car rental industry would never make the news like this but occasionally there is a major shortage of rental cars and with one of those times coming up, Easter now is a great time to think about securing your vehicle before it’s too late.
