Well maybe not but tommorow the New Zealand basket ball league kick off with the Harbour Heat playing the Otago Nuggets with this game to be followed the next day by the Auckland Pirates playing Otago as well and then on the Sunday both the Auckland teams face off against each other in the first of two battles of the bridge to be played this year.

This year sees the return of the Harbour Heat after a year out and the second year of the Auckland Pirates in the competition both teams are partialy sponsored by James Blond Ltd and both teams have players driving James Blond Ltd rental cars as part of the sponsorship package.

Here at James Blond Ltd we are often asked whats the shortest length of time i can hire a car for and the answer is that you can have it for 5 minutes or 24 hours but the price remains trhe same our minimum hire period for a car is 24 hours but if you only need it for 3 or 4 hours we don’t have a problem with you bringing it back early.

And then of course there is the other extreme and thats those of our customers who keep the vehicle for an extended period of time with one recent customer returning our rental car 17 months after it drove out the door. Obviously during this time we had the car serviced at his local garage and kept the COF and Rego up to date but when it came back from the rental some of my staff had never seen the car before.

Today James Blond Ltd entered into an agreement with Parkside Media to produce a range of videos for our website these video’s will cover a wide range of our rental cars and minivans and will make it easier for oiur potential customers to have a look at our product offerings and make an informed decision before booking the vehicle on what is going to do the job for them.

One of the things that we are constantly asked with our rental minivans is how much space is there in the rear and we hope that by producing these new videos in a short 20 second clip that shows a walk around the vehicle that people will be able to gain some sort of perspective of total size seating configuration and all the other things that people wonder about when it comes to hiring a minivan.

We also hope that we can produce a video that shows both our premesis and staff some you have some idea of who you are dealing with and can see the size of the operation so you will realise we are not some little Micky Mouse outfit.

No one knows why things happen the way they do in totally random ways and this is certainly the case when it comes to the volume of car rental business that walks through the door here at James Blond Ltd. We have stats and stats that show what happened last week last month last year and even like 5 years ago but occasionaly we just have one of thise days either good or bad when all hell lets loose or absolutly nothing happens.

Yesterday and Friday where days when all hell let loose and the yard looked like some desolate bombsite as all of our cars trucks and minivans dissapeared out on rent. You might think I am complaining writing like this but i am not what I strugle to work out is why it happens the way it does and i just wish i could predict it so i could take advantage of it.

This last few weeks we have been busier than over the public holidays at the end of January and begining of February and rental car tradition says that that should not happen.

We have however not run out of rental cars and have them available for rent should you wish and with our winter pricing starting on the 1st of March now has never been a better time.

A lot of our customers renting minibuses and minivans seem confused about what they should be called and to be honest I don’t really know either I think that the two terms originated in different parts of the world with minibus starting in England and minivan originating in the USA so a lot depends on your language origination.

Here at James Blond Ltd i do know that no matter what you call it we have a large selection available from the larger 6 seat premium vans through to our 12 seat Ford Transit and Jumbo Toyota Hiace. One thing we do not have though is anything larger than that with the traffic laws in New Zealand requiring a special licence for anyone in charge of a vehicle that contains more than 11 passengers.
